WHAT IS IT?

My JOB

Tale Teller is a Deckbuilding type Card Game with strong Roguelike aspects.

You play as a writer working on his next book who will have to create amazing adventures for his main protagonist.
You will drive the progress of your Hero by choosing the direction that the story will take and how the character will grow up.

In order to do this, you will place cards that represent allies, mighty monsters, epic locations, and legendary items to build an interesting story.

With a total content of more than 140 different cards, you have the occasion to try different ways of evolution for the main plot and several archetypes around which you can build your deck.

At the end of every quest, you will be able to choose to add multiple cards to your deck or to remove some you already have that don't fit with the way you want to play.

During this project, we were a small team with very precise expertise fields.

My job inside this team was to maintain a coherence of the systemic gameplay we were aiming for.
We had a very ambitious sight of what we wanted of the project in three main fields that were content, narration, and systems.
I had to ensure that we didn't lose the coherence and the deepness of the original game system as well as continue to improve it.

To do so I worked a lot on writing documentation and sum-up on solutions to add up to the project in order to convince the rest of the team.
I did a lot of schematic representation of systems that

I designed as well as simulations for the base values of those.

I was also in charge of playtest's sessions. I set up a playtesters database through Google Spreadsheet that allows us to easily analyze peoples that showed interest in playtesting the game and contact them through an automatic process handled by a custom spreadsheet extension in Java Script.
Thanks to this system we were able to select and contact playtester among a panel of more than 70 people in a very short time.

I also insisted on being very rigorous on how we gather their feedback and analyze them through a process inspired by Lean Design principles.
